I'm sending you the link as it discusses how mushrooms have the ability to bind up and transform radioactive materials. At the end of the article there is a link to the TED talk by mycologist, Paul Stamets who is responsible for the research in this area. I think you will find it heartening.

The possibilities of nature to heal itself are simply amazing -- if we give it a chance.
Here's the link: http://wilderquarterly.com/2012/02/the-weird-wonderful-mushroom-future/Donnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15389089244659190252noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8941116847729995457.post-27577634593717094382012-03-28T15:03:05.028+09:002012-03-28T15:03:05.028+09:00Euan, I love the way you express the connectedness...Euan, I love the way you express the connectedness between mankind and nature - I feel this so strongly. I despair each time 'mankind' comes up with 'a great new technology' without researching and solving all the potentials of things going wrong - after all, isn't this basic Health and Safety common sense?Noela Millshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14474975263132770651noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8941116847729995457.post-17929074591253989012012-03-28T09:18:17.567+09:002012-03-28T09:18:17.567+09:00Reading your words is a gift. May through your eloquent and painful words will we learn, will our governments learn, and our land and hearts heal from all that has been poisoned in the name of progress. Your reminder of the important things is beautifully phrased and powerfully presented. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughtful appreciation of the world you live in, and the wisdom of your hard earned experiences.

Good luck, and thanks again for sharing!carter gillieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12744265678233135968noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8941116847729995457.post-19849223010813104732012-03-28T01:51:11.357+09:002012-03-28T01:51:11.357+09:00words of wisdom.

Because only then, will we do something globably about nuclear power. I agree as long as we use it - there is a potential for accidents. It's far too easy to believe accidents won't happen - especially if you've never had to deal with the consequences.
I continue to wish you and your family and all of Japan healing and growth.Judy Shrevehttp://www.mountainhousestudios.comnoreply@blogger.com
